From the Serra da Malcata in the south, along the hills surrounding the Pônsul and Erges rivers, in the interior of Alentejo and in the mountains of Algarve, and in the north, on the banks of the Côa river and in the mountainous regions between the Tua and Sabor rivers (the hot lands of Tras-os-Montes), Serramel produces and selects this honey with its light color and delicate, aromatic taste. Its production and extraction are done traditionally.
